Barrington area naturalist Wendy Paulson led bird watching hikes again this year. Enthusiastic
participants observed 107 species and 2,499 birds during hikes on 10 dates and 7 preserve locations. A
full list is shown below.
These popular hikes fill to capacity quickly. Participants learn about unique bird behaviors and habitats
as Wendy shares her extensive knowledge and passion about wildlife. Migratory and resident birds
benefit from the year-round work of volunteers to ecologically restore and improve habitats.
Watch for 2018 sign ups as participant spots are limited. Before you go, learn about creating habitat for
area birds by attending CFC’s education session on January 20, 2018.
Birds Hikes are cosponsored by Citizens for Conservation and Audubon Great Lakes.
