"When Giants Fall - The Oaks of McHenry County" will be the topic addressed by highly respected Ed Collins, Natural Resource Manager for the McHenry County Conservation District at the 39th Annual Meeting of Citizens for Conservation (CFC).
All CFC members and friends are invited to gather at the Barrington Area Library on Wednesday, March 3. The event will start with a social hour featuring educational displays sponsored by local conservation initiatives at 6:00 P.M. followed at 7:00 P.M. by a brief business meeting, the keynote speaker, a review of the organization's 2009 accomplishments and recognition awards for outstanding conservation achievements in the Barrington area.
Displays and information will be presented by conservationists representing Conservation@Home, Native Seed Gardeners, Rain Gardens, Leave No Child Inside, Native Plants in the Home Landscape, and Flint Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation. Those who wish are encouraged to bring donations for wildlife rehabilitation efforts.
A silent auction featuring Ryan White original artworks to benefit Citizens for Conservation will be a new feature of the evening, and past recipients of the William H. Miller Conservation Award will be recognized on this 25th anniversary of the award.
