Online ordering typically runs from March 1 through mid-April for pickup during the sale on a weekend in May.
Citizens for Conservation (CFC) helps residents to create way station habitats for pollinators, birds, and wildlife. CFC provides consultations, resource information, educational events, and helps source quality native plants. Our annual Spring plant sale is recognized across the region.

Each May, CFC hosts one of the oldest and largest native plant sales in Illinois. Since its start in 1996, the plant sale has grown to selling over 17,000 plants each year, expanding native habitat in yards throughout the Chicago region. Included are:
- More than 300 varieties of native perennials, ferns, sedges, grasses, shrubs, and trees
- Plants for shoreline and slope stabilization
- Rain, shade, and butterfly gardens
- Native wildflowers
- All plants sold are free of neonicotinoid pesticides.
Online pre-ordering and a native plant catalog makes planning and shopping easy. The catalog provides details on hundreds of native plants. It also has a great filtering capability: in addition to common filters such as sun and water, you can also filter by color; by tolerance to deer, rabbit, or black walnut; and by species that you want to attract, such as hummingbirds, butterflies, beetles and bees.

CFC members receive a 10% discount on plant orders.
