Reservations are not required to participate in restoration workdays. However, we appreciate advance notice if you intend to join us for planning purposes.
Occasionally, weather or other factors require last-minute changes to the workday location or a cancellation is necessary. We communicate these changes via email to subscribers of our workday email list. Please sign up if you are interested in up-to-date information related to restoration activities.
Typical Seasonal Tasks:
- Spring: Native plant rescues, legume seed sowing, plug planting.
- Summer: Invasive plant removal (i.e. weeding), cutting, digging or pulling non-native and invasive plants from Barrington area nature preserves.
- Fall: Seed collecting—a fun and easy activity for all generations.
- Winter: Clearing and removing large invasive plants.
Experienced and new volunteers are always welcome! Bring work gloves and dress appropriately for the weather. We provide necessary tools based on restoration activity.
