Spring native plant sale

Each spring, CFC’s annual Native Plant, Shrub and Tree Sale attracts customers from as far away as Wisconsin. CFC offers homeowners more than 18,000 native plants—and 225 native species—including thousands of milkweed plants, part of CFC’s “Milkweed for Monarchs” campaign. Gardeners value the sale both for the abundant supply of hard-to-find native plants and for the information on planting and care shared by CFC volunteers. The sale has been so successful that CFC now offers a native tree and shrub sale in the fall as well.

Our ability to set up the huge spring event is contingent on volunteers. We particularly need volunteers to set up tables, unload plant delivery trucks, label plants, fill pre-sale orders and arrange plants on tables in the week before the plant sale. At the plant sale we need people who are knowledgeable about native plants to give advice to shoppers and we need people to help load vehicles. After the sale, we need help taking down everything and putting it away. Thanks to all of our plant sale volunteers — new and returning.

Online ordering for the spring plant sale will begin in March, but you can start planning now. We have created permanent web  pages of local native plants organized by categories: Ferns, Forbs, Grasses and Sedges, Shrubs and Trees. You can filter by sun requirements, water requirements and color. Bookmark our native plant pages so you can find them when you need them.
