CFC Hosts Open Self-Guided Prairie Walk July 5

Citizens for Conservation is hosting its second season of Interactive Self-Guided Prairie Walks at Flint Creek Savanna, located at CFC’s Headquarters, 459 W. Hwy 22 in Lake Barrington.
The preserve is open free to the public the first Sunday afternoon of each month, July through September, 1:00-4:00 p.m.
The walk on July 5 will feature wildflowers on the prairie. This is a great time to visit the prairie when the grasses are at medium height and all the wildflowers in bloom can be easily seen.
Visitors might be surprised to see a Great White Egret stalking prey in the pond or Purple Martins in their high rise condo on the trail.
Be sure to wear good hiking shoes. Bring your cell phone with a Scan app to access the videos by restoration experts along the trail.
