Spring Native Plant, Shrub, & Tree Sale

Monarch butterfly on blazing star

Each year, CFC hosts one of the largest native plant, tree, & shrub sales in the region, featuring more than 200 species of native forbs, grasses, trees, and shrubs. All plants are acquired from high-quality area nurseries and are grown without the use of neonicotinoid pesticides, which are toxic to pollinators.

Mark your calendars:

  • Pre-order pick up: May 3 from 11 am–6pm and May 4 from 9 am–3 pm
  • Members only sale: May 3 from 11 am–6 pm
  • Public Sale: May 4 and May 5 from 9 am–3 pm

This year’s sale will be held on the beautiful grounds of Hill ‘N Dale Preserve in Barrington Hills.

Volunteers are always welcome! Visit the Barrington Area Volunteer Connection to learn about specific needs, or contact us by email at [email protected].

We offer resources to help select the plants that are right for your area:

  • CFC’s Native Plant database has details on hundreds of species. You can sort by water need, sun, color and desired wildlife species that you hope to attract.
  • Native plant experts will be on hand at the sale to answer questions and help you find the right species based on your planting site.
  • Call us at 847-382-SAVE. We love to talk about plants!

Remember, CFC members receive a 10% discount on plant orders, so be sure your membership is up to date or become a member now.   All memberships expire annually on March 31.
