CFC’s 17th annual Native Plant, Shrub and Tree Sale, held May 4-5th, is now in the record books. Some 15,385 forbs (flowering plants such as queen of the prairie, blood root, butterfly weed, red trillium and spiderwort), grasses and ferns were purchased by gardeners along with 217 shrubs and trees.
Knowledgeable CFC volunteers, and successful native gardeners, were at the sale to assist enthusiastic gardeners who want to plant for beauty and wildlife and avoid using herbicides and pesticides. Gardeners came from a wide area to choose native plants for their home, business and municipal landscapes.
The sale is held the first weekend in May of each year.
