Brushcutting, Bonfire + End of Year Celebration
December 14, 2019 @ 9:00 AM - 12:30 PM
You are invited to a Wandering Workday co-hosted by Citizens for Conservation (CFC) and McHenry County Conservation District as part of the Barrington Greenway Initiative (BGI).
BGI’s goal is to collaborate across jurisdictional boundaries to create unbroken, linked habitat corridors, increased biodiversity, and strengthened ecosystems all the way from the Poplar Creek area to north of Port Barrington. This will be BGI’s first workday in McHenry County.
Date: Saturday, December 14th
Time: 9:30am-12pm
Location: Hickory Grove Highlands
500 Hickory Nut Grove Lane, Cary 60013
We’ll be cutting invasive brush at the Hickory Grove Highlands. The work site is located near Grove #1, but the gate is closed for winter – there’s plenty of parking in the rest of the lot. If there’s snow, we’ll be able to have a brush pile burn to warm up. Remember to wear layers! All tools provided but gloves recommended.
