We will continue to offer our “Restoration 102” workdays on Wednesdays. To clear up some confusion, these are open to absolutely anyone interested in learning more about what it takes to restore a natural area after the blunt tools have been used (i.e. brush cutting and massive plantings).

This week we will split as Luke leads volunteers at Grassy Lake in finishing off some small stem buckthorn removal and spreading Rye Grass provided by the Forest Preserves.

Kevin will leading a group spraying Reed Canary Grass with a grass-specific herbicide at Flint Creek Savanna. We will go through the oldest plantings first to knock out threatening new invasions.
